I would recommend "Play it as it Lays." I just finished "Democracy" but would recommend it less so. I find both works to be exteremely well crafted. The definition of good reading. But I fidn them also to be totally non-affective. Nearly without emotion. How does Magical Thinking go? Does she get less dry with real life tragedy?
