2.40 The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion

Fantastic piece about the art of mourning and recovery. Not the best choice for late night reading though, as it will make you more than a bit teary-eyed. This is my first time reading Didion and now I'm interested in more. Any recommendations?

I would recommend "Play it as it Lays." I just finished "Democracy" but would recommend it less so. I find both works to be exteremely well crafted. The definition of good reading. But I fidn them also to be totally non-affective. Nearly without emotion. How does Magical Thinking go? Does she get less dry with real life tragedy?
